An Adventure Fit for Fall

When thinking of fall, everything cozy comes to mind-pumpkin pie, sweaters, hot chocolate and the approaching holiday season. This month, start planning to kick off your fall season with a trip to Huckleberry Trail Farm! Located at 143 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Siler City, NC, 27344, Huckleberry Trail Farm is open to the public every weekend beginning Saturday, October 1st through Sunday, October 30th.

Whether you are planning a visit with your family, or to reminisce on your own childhood experiences, the farm hosts a variety of activities suitable for all ages.

Activities:

The Corn Maze

Ever chosen to spend a couple of hours figuring out how to get out of a field of corn? If not, here’s your one chance! Nothing says fall like exploring over 4.5 acres of corn stalks in an old-fashioned maze. With two different mazes, including an escape path down the middle of the maze, visitors can choose the challenge they wish to take. Parents, feel free to sit on the sidelines and watch, as all groups are given a flag to keep from getting lost.

The Hayride

You’re never too old to climb aboard a fall hayride. Transporting visitors to both the pumpkin and the cotton patch, the “Great Pumpkin” hayride follows the same path as the Wagon Trail, a trail that transported settlers to the West in the 1800s.

Huckleberry Trail Farm has taken all of the safety measures into great consideration and assures visitors that the ride is low to the ground and has high sides and a locking gate for children.

Special Events:

Flashlight Maze

On Saturday, October 24th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Huckleberry Trail Farm is hosting their own spooky version of a corn maze, with flashlights! Huckleberry Trail Farm invites you AND your flashlight to experience their 5-acre corn maze, in the dark, for a chance to win one of their Huck t-shirts. Admission is $10 for all participants!

Innovation on the Farm Day

On Saturday, October 17th Huckleberry Trail Farm will be hosting Innovation on the Farm Day to celebrate both innovation and farming. In giving visitors a sneak peek into the ways in which technology and innovation work together to help grow food, visitors of all ages will find something that interests them!

The event will feature machines constructed by NC State engineering students and a corn planter and GPS on display from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss how corn mazes are constructed!

Teacher Workday Challenge

On Friday, October 28th, Huckleberry Trail Farm will be hosting an event for Chatham County Schools, dropping the field trip admission fee to only $8.50 per person, including a free pumpkin! The farm will offer access to the corn maze, both the pumpkin and cotton patches, the slingshot and picnic areas.

Groups will also be eligible to participate in a farm-wide scavenger hunt, learning and exploring facts about Huckleberry Trail Farm.
