Halloween At Fearrington

Pittsboro, NC – I love heading to Fearrington Village in the fall. It’s so close to home but always feels like an idyllic village in the countryside.

The beautiful gardens there are at their peak now with intense, ever-changing autumn colors. I love to browse the boutique shops, have a bite to eat and enjoy the crisp taste of a craft brew under oak trees, listening to wonderful live music.

Here is a list of things happening this weekend at Fearrington Village.

Roost Beer Garden: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday October 28th:Tommy Edwards, Saturday, October 29th: Boys from Carolina, and Sunday October 30th: Pumpkinfest! with Guilty Pleasures

McIntyre’s Author Event: Jay R. Tunney, Saturday October 29th, 11 a.m.

Author Jay R. Tunney is the son of the famous fighter, Gene Tunney, the world heavyweight-boxing champion from 1926 to 1928, and tells the story of an unlikely friendship.  George Bernard Shaw, a world-famous playwright, found the Irish-American athlete to be “among the very few for whom I have established a warm affection.” The Prizefighter and the Playwright chronicles the legendary – but rarely documented – relationship that formed between this celebrated odd couple.

McIntyre’s Author Event: Jay R. Tunney, Sunday October 30th, 2 p.m.

Robert Morgan, the bestselling historian and biographer of Boone, which was a Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist. Now he tells the story of ten American legends in Lions of the West: Heroes and Villains of the Westwards Expansion, who helped achieve America’s Manifest Destiny.

In The Village Center the annual Fearrington Halloween Pumpkin Fest is a blast!
