It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Chatham County
The holidays are upon us – a time for loved ones, for celebration, for shopping and for remembering everything that we are thankful for. With guests in town and the children out of school, make your holiday season one to remember by celebrating it right here at home, in Chatham County. Like the carol says, “There’s no place like home for the holidays.”
Welcome Santa in the Holiday Parade:
The annual Pittsboro Holiday Parade is an area tradition, getting you in the spirit of the season! Hosted by the Town of Pittsboro, the parade will take place on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. The parade begins on Martin Luther King Drive and will continue down East and West Street with its end on Farrell Street.
Grab a chair and a blanket for your front row seat to Pittsboro’s marching bands, dancers, singers and of course, Santa himself!
Rock Around the Christmas Tree:
Join the Town of Pittsboro in lighting the city’s largest tree at the historic Chatham County Courthouse. Surrounding the 18-foot holiday marvel will be a celebration including school choirs, carolers and Santa! On Sunday, November 20 from 4-6 p.m., enjoy the beginnings of the Christmas season with your loved ones. Santa visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. If you are interested in getting a head start on your holiday shopping, business will be hosting specials all day long!
Celebrate a Miracle on Hillsboro Street:
If you are a fan of the classic, “Miracle on 34th Street,” Pittsboro’s very own “Miracle on Hillsboro Street” is guaranteed to hit a high note for you this year. Admission is $5 or a donation of five non-perishable food items. Children under six are free. Now with two show times, make sure to purchase your tickets for at the Pittsboro Roadhouse for Saturday, December 17 at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m.
Join actual courthouse officers and local actors as Santa Claus faces his greatest trial yet! The performance will be held at the Chatham County Courthouse.

- 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.: 10% off sale on one item at Joyful Jewel and a performance by Chadburn Spivey, the Traveling Musician, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
