November Is Upon Us
Happy November, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Halloween in Chatham County this year. Even though October is gone, there are still plenty of things to do in the area to celebrate fall.
Take a hike through the many trails in Jordan Lake State Park, dine at one of the fine restaurants in Pittsboro or Fearrington Village (such as The City Tap or farm-to-fork Celebrity Dairy), or take a relaxing drive through Chatham County to enjoy the beautiful fall colors. There are endless opportunities.
Local Awards:
Before I jump into the November events, I wanted to give some shoutouts to my fellow Chatham County businesses. The Chatham County area is home to many high-quality dining and entertainment options, and these awards are the proof. I encourage you to visit Pittsboro, Fearrington or Siler City if you’re interested in moving to the area. You can even use my “36 Hours in Pittsboro” blog post as a guide.
Great job to these award-winners!

November Events:
In addition to Thanksgiving celebrations and cooler temperatures, November has lots to offer in Chatham County. Explore the area through art, dining and outdoor adventures! Be sure to mark your calendars for the following events:
Tree Identification Hike at Bynum Mill Access (November 8, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm): In celebration of Chatham County Arbor Month, the Chatham Conservation Partnership is offering a tree identification hike. Andy Upshaw, with Grand Trees of Chatham, will lead the group along the Bynum Mill Access trail downstream along the Haw River below the Bynum dam to Pokeberry Creek. *Note that the hike is about two miles round-trip. CCP asks that you wear sturdy shoes for walking on uneven terrain and bring water. Meet in the parking lot.
Register for the free tour by calling (919) 545-8044 on Monday through Friday.
Art Bazaar and Cocktail Night (November 6, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm): Get to know the owners of the new Fair Game Beverage Company, which recently moved to Chatham County. We recently blogged about FGBC (we’re big fans), so check it out before you head over. FGBC is offering a night of arts, crafts, classic music on vinyl, and specialty cocktails featuring NC-distilled wines. Make it a meal with grilled made-to-order pizzas from Bella Donna Italian Restaurant. Other local vendors will be there as well.
The Wine of the Piedmont (The Italian One) (November 6, 5:30 pm): The Fearrington Granary is one of the many fine-dining locations in Fearrington Village. Enjoy a tour from Wine Director Maximilian Kast, as he leads you through one of his favorite wine regions in the world. Think of it as a great way to find those perfect holiday wines! For $25, your night will include wine, cheese plate, service fee and tax.
That’s it for now! Check back soon for more Chatham County news, and enjoy your November.
