5 Ways to Enjoy New Year’s Eve Around Chatham County

The three-piece outfit of thumping upright bass, driving acoustic guitar and twanging electric guitar covers a diverse array of artists including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Neil Diamond, Merle Haggard, Chet Atkins, and many others while mixing in some choice original tunes to round it all out.

The Morehead Planetarium in downtown Chapel Hill is hosting a kid-friendly “Night Lights” event on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. Join other families for an early evening of activities, performances and a kid’s countdown “under the stars” to welcome the start of a new journey around the Sun!
There will be some yummy food as well! Food trucks will be serving hot and fresh doughnuts made on the spot by Dusty Donuts and Mexican food made with fresh ingredients by Bandido’s Cafe.

4. Laugh to Improv at DSI Comedy:
Not interested in music? Try comedy instead! DSI Comedy is hosting “The Best Countdown Ever,” a night of laughs and improve in downtown Chapel Hill. After a two-hour show, there will be a 10-minute countdown and celebratory champagne toasts at midnight! You’ll also enjoy plenty of party favors, noisemakers, a cash bar.
