Hop Into Spring: Easter Events for Every Bunny

From nostalgic hunts at historic sites to beer flights and boozy eggs, the Triangle is bursting with ways to celebrate Easter weekend. If you’ve got kids in tow, prefer a craft brew over candy or need an inclusive space for all kinds of little egg-hunters, there’s something hopping near you. Check out these events happening across Durham, Chapel Hill and Morrisville!

Saturday, April 19 | 10 a.m. | Duke Homestead 

Step back in time and celebrate spring at the historic Duke Homestead State Historic Site in Durham! Kids can explore the historic grounds in search of hidden eggs, trade them in for prizes and enjoy a lively morning filled with egg-themed games, traditional 19th-century games and a puppet show.

Bring your own basket and get ready for age-grouped egg hunts:

  • Ages 0–3: 10:15 a.m.
  • Ages 4–7: 10:30 a.m.
  • Ages 8–12: 11:00 a.m.

Set on the former home and farm of Washington Duke, where the Duke family lived from 1852 to 1874, this site offers a unique blend of fun and history. Learn about the roots of the Duke family’s tobacco legacy while enjoying springtime festivities with the whole family. Learn more!

Thursday, April 17 | 6 p.m. | Morrisville Community Park

Hop into the Easter spirit at Peeps in the Park, Morrisville’s Peep-themed scavenger hunt! Bring the whole family for an evening of lawn games, music, a petting zoo, food trucks and festive fun.

Parking will be available at Morrisville Elementary School (1519 Morrisville Parkway). No parking at the park itself.

Saturday, April 19 – Sunday, April 20 | 12 p.m. | Steel String Brewery at Pluck Farm

Celebrate Easter weekend with Steel String Brewery at Pluck Farm in Chapel Hill on April 19–20 for a festive, family-friendly Easter Egg-stravaganza! Enjoy a weekend full of springtime fun including Easter egg hunts at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday (with a special area for the littlest bunnies), and a DIY Easter ornament craft station open all weekend long.

Grab a beer, soak in the springtime and let the kids run wild across the farm fields. With brews crafted right here in the Piedmont and activities for all ages, this is a perfect way to welcome the season. 

Saturday, April 19 | 10 a.m. | Oakwood Park 

Designed especially for children with different abilities or special needs—and their siblings—the Egg-ceptional Egg Hunt offers a safe, fun and inclusive Easter celebration in Chapel Hill. Taking place at Oakwood Park, this event features small group egg hunts in raised beds within an enclosed area, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all.

  • Registration required by Thursday, April 17 at 12 noon
  • Choose one of two time slots (max 10 kids per slot)
  • Bring your own basket
  • Come early for fun activities before the hunt begins!

Please register each child participating—including siblings or friends. There is no rain date, so call 919-968-2813 after 8:30 AM on April 19 if the weather is questionable.

Sunday, April 20 | 11 a.m. | The Glass Jug Beer Lab

Skip the sugar rush – Easter at the Jug in Durham is for the adults who’d rather sip than hunt. They’re offering $25 bottles all day and serving up Easter Egg flights full of bold, boozy surprises. Whether you’re dodging family brunch or just need a break from pastel overload, they’ve got a pour (or four) waiting for you.
