Christmas Parades and More in Chatham County
Chatham County, NC – The holidays are fast approaching and that means it is time to get out of the house and show your holiday spirit. There are cookies with Santa, Parent’s Night Out (get a little shopping done) and you can even still get a float in the Christmas Parade.
Cookies and Milk with Santa
On Friday, November 30, 2012, the Chatham County Parks and Recreation will be holding their first ever Cookies and Milk with Santa. This event will take place from 6:00-8:00 pm at Northwest District Park, located at 2413 Woody Store Road in the Silk Hope area. (If using your GPS to locate the facility, it is a Siler City address.) They will have arts and crafts as well as a sing-along and pictures with Santa, and of course, his favorite snack-cookies and milk! The cost for this event will be $15.00 per child and $10.00 for each additional sibling. They are asking participants to register here by Friday, November 16th at 5:00pm.
Parents Night Out
On Friday, December 7, 2012, the Chatham County Parks and Recreation will be holding their first ever Parents Night Out.
This event will take place from 6:00-10:00 pm at Northwest District Park, located at 2413 Woody Store Road in the Silk Hope area. (If using your GPS to locate the facility, it is a Siler City address.)
So, if you need to catch up on Christmas shopping, run a few errands, or just have time for yourselves-bring your kids to them! They will have arts and crafts, games, a movie and more! The cost for this event will be $15.00 per child and $10.00 for each additional sibling. They are asking participants to register by Wednesday, November 21st at 5:00pm.
Get a Float in the Siler City Christmas Parade
This year, on December 6th at 7:00 pm, the Siler City Christmas Parade will be making its way down the usual route – down S. Chatham, right onto Beaver Street to S. Birch Street, left onto W. Raleigh Street to Park Shopping Center.
The theme of this year’s parade is “The Wonder of Christmas Morning” and cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 floats, so here are some tips to help you design your prize-winning entry. Floats will be judged on the following:
- Theme
- Originality
- Attention to Detail
- Difficulty of Construction
- Overall Appearance
To submit a Parade Entry, please complete the Parade Entry application and return it with your $10 entry fee no later than November 30, 2012. Please read through the Parade Guidelines before submitting your Entry Form.
Pittsboro Christmas Parade
The Town of Pittsboro invites you to participate in the Town of Pittsboro 2012 Christmas Parade on December 2nd, 2012 at 3 pm.
