9th Annual Death Faire
Saturday, November 2 | 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Hosted by The Plant, be immersed in a unique celebration inspired by the death positivity movement. This day-long event invites the community to explore grief and the complexities of morality through a variety of immersive sessions, including ancestral healing, grief rituals and hands-on activities, such as candle-making and poetry. Throughout the day, an interactive altar will be made available for personal tributes, along with a vibrant art exhibit at the Smelt Art Gallery. Music for the Mountains: WNC Benefit Concert & Market
Sunday, November 3 | 12 – 5 p.m.
This heartfelt event is dedicated to raising funds for farmers and artists affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Enjoy live music featuring Jennifer Curtis, Shana Tucker, The Jive Bombers and The Radio while browsing local vendors and savoring delicious food and beverages. This free event aims to support the Rural Advancement Foundation International and the North Carolina Arts Foundation disaster relief fund. This is a night of lighter for a great cause! Headlining Comedy Night @ The Plant is the hilarious Buddha Joe, returning to the stage to support a fantastic cause just in time for Veterans Day.
This year, all proceeds will benefit Vets to Vets, a North Carolina organization dedicated to training rescue dogs as service animals for veterans in need. Their mission is vital, transforming the lives of both veterans and dogs alike, and they’re making a real difference in our community. How can you help? It’s simple! Purchase a ticket, come out, and enjoy a night of comedy that supports a worthy cause.
