Starting December 31st at 8 p.m., visitors at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock will be able to ski up until 11:30 p.m. Try out a new winter sport by skating your way into the New Year with moonlight ice skating from 10 p.m. to midnight. Before concluding the grand night with the perfect view of midnight fireworks, make sure you take a peek at the festive restaurant specials that Blowing Rock has to offer!

Charlotte New Year's

This year, Charlotte continues its New Year’s Eve celebration from December 31st at 8 p.m. to midnight. Romare Bearden Park will host a variety of entertainment and food vendors. Don’t miss out on local Charlotte New Year’s Eve traditions featuring Crown Town, food trucks, a DJ and a live band, the Royals.

At midnight, watch the crown light up with a fireworks show to follow! Public parking will be available at surface lots and parking decks in Uptown Charlotte. Mass transit will also be available for the public.

If you will be celebrating New Year’s Eve in the Chatham County area, do not miss Pittsboro Roadhouse’s Enchanting Evening – A New Year’s Eve Gala. Join the world-class NC Revelers Orchestra in dancing into the New Year, Hollywood style.

The event will be hosted on December 31st from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and will feature ballroom dancing, party favors, hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast. At $75 per person and $140 per couple, this will be one night to remember!

Pleasure Island

The 2016 Island of Lights Celebration in Pleasure Island will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Starting at 9 p.m. on December 31st in Ocean Font Park, the free festivities include a DJ and dancing. Refreshments and party favors will also be available for purchase. Try your luck at the Island of Lights raffle in hopes of taking home some original artwork!

When the clock strikes midnight, the giant beach ball will be dropped, kicking off a spectacular fireworks display!
