Summerfest in a Small Town

Summerfest in a Small Town

As the days get even longer, we find ourselves growing even closer to this year’s Summerfest in Pittsboro, NC! This year, join us as we sponsor the second annual celebration of summertime festivities. Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 1st from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. in downtown Pittsboro, at 8 Hillsboro Street. Keep this annual tradition going!

The Bicycle Parade:

If you were in attendance last year, you may remember the bicycle parade! Not so comfortable on two wheels? Bring your scooter or your wagon along for the ride. Whatever you do, don’t forget to add your own original decorations along the lines of the Independence theme – stars, stripes and … bikes? Show your creativity and enthusiasm to enter your creation for a prize!

To participate, please email [email protected] along with the participating member’s name, address, phone number and age. While not required, but strongly encouraged, the deadline for pre-registration is June 30th.

Once all of your decorations are in place, pedal over to the old Piggly Wiggly, located at 50 West Salisbury Street in Pittsboro from 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. to line up.

Looking for some early decorating tips for your bike? Look no further than these star-studded ideas.

What to Expect:

As per usual, you can expect the talented First Sunday vendors to be in attendance at the festival. In the spirit of shopping local, pick out a piece of artisan jewelry, a woodwork masterpiece, a unique pottery design and so much more! Your memorable Summerfest souvenirs await you!

No celebration is complete without live music, food and games. That’s why Pittsboro’s Summerfest is going above and beyond, bringing you chicken bingo, watermelon seed spitting contests, pie throwing competitions and in true summer fashion, a dunking booth.
