New Decade, New Traditions

As we close the chapter on 2019, it is time to begin thinking ahead! Like, what are your plans for New Year’s Eve?

New Year’s Eve Gala:

Hear that? That’s the sound of Pittsboro in the Roaring 20’s! Ring in the New Year in the Chatham Beverage District, Chatham County’s most exclusive location for all things on New Year’s Eve. The Pittsboro in the Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve Gala will take place at The Plant, located at 213 Lorax Lane.

Sip on festive spirits, learn how to play the sport of pé·tanque and explore the art show at Smelt Art Gallery. Maybe your taste buds will lead you to culinary treats from Lilly Den Farm or Copeland Springs Kitchen. As the night carries on, look forward to midnight, when Chatham Cider Works will drop the big green apple!

New Year’s Eve Wine Dinner:

Nothing ages quite like fine wine! That holds true especially moving forward into the next decade, it just keeps getting better. At The Root Cellar Cafe in Pittsboro, treat yourself to an all-inclusive three-course meal prepared by Chef Sera Cuni. Wine pairings will be provided by the Vino Wine Shop. It’s not New Year’s Eve without a champagne toast to close out the night!

Menu:

  • Charcuterie items paired with 2018 Chateau du Seuil ‘Chapel de Seuil’ Provence Rose, France
  • Seared Scallops with winter citrus salad, pickled onions and arugula, served with 2018 Nigel Gruner Veltliner Freiheit, Kremstal, Austria
  • Fennel and garlic porchetta with gorgonzola polenta and roasted broccoli rabe, served with La Maialina Gertrude, IGT, Italy
  • Chocolate hazelnut tart with minted creme fraiche and candied cranberries, served with NV Bigaro Brachetto/Moscato, Piedmont, Italy

Happy Noon Year:

Ever spent New Year’s Eve in a library? Well now is your chance! The Happy Noon Year celebration will take place at the Chatham County Library starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Holmes Meeting Room. Bring the little ones for an afternoon of noisemakers, arts and crafts and a countdown at noon! Pizza and beverages will be available for purchase. Contribute your tastiest treat to the dessert potluck too. Admission is free!

New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball:

Cross the county line over to Sanford for the masquerade ball at Hugger Mugger Brewing in Sanford. From 7 p.m. on December 31 until 2 a.m. on January 2, brew the night away! Standard party packs will be available at the event and include a champagne pour, noisemaker and party accessories. Upgrade your party pack to include a custom mask from Cave Bear Trading Company.

New Year’s Eve Dine & Dance:

Dance and dine the night away at the Pittsboro Roadhouse! From 9 p.m. until midnight on December 31, savor the dinner and dessert buffet, midnight champagne toast, party favors and groove on the dance floor. Tickets are available for $75.
