Get ready for a summer packed with creativity, curiosity and hands-on STEM fun! Chatham Grove Elementary School in Pittsboro is hosting Camp Invention: Spark July 13–16, for children entering grades K–6, with a Leaders-in-Training program available for grades 7–9.
This year’s all-new curriculum features four exciting experiences, from forensic mystery-solving with a robotic capybara, to building a billboard boat that really floats, to launching DIY rockets and inventing wearable gadgets. Every activity is designed to spark imagination, build confidence and make science and innovation genuinely fun.
Camp runs 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, with camper registration at $285 and Leaders-in-Training spots available for $185. Northwest District Park in Siler City offers a packed summer of traditional camp fun for kids ages 5–12, and while all eight weeks of the main Summer Camp are currently full, there’s still plenty to explore!
Beyond the main camp, the full summer lineup includes something for nearly every interest and age group. Art lovers can explore Color Me Rainbow Arts & Crafts (ages 7–12) or Teen Art Camp: Craft & Creative Expression (ages 13–17). Performers can shine at Chatham Summer Stage (ages 11–17). Teens can get creative at Creativity Camp for Teens (ages 12–18), and tweens have two dedicated sessions with T(w)een Camp #1 and #2 (ages 11–14).
