A Very Huckleberry Fall
Pumpkin-picking season is almost ripe at Siler City’s Huckleberry Trail Farm. A Chatham County favorite, Huckleberry Trail Farm’s Fall Festival kicks off sweater weather for many locals. This year, the farm’s response to the current health pandemic will ensure the safety of employees and visiting guests, including several alternatives to many of the traditional activities typically offered. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. until October 31, the Fall Festival will be in full swing. Tickets are available now online!

Fall Happenings on the Farm:
Is it really fall if you don’t get lost in a corn maze? With nearly 4.5 acres of stalks and bushels, you’re sure to make a few wrong turns. Worry not, because the escape path through the middle allows you to take a break at any time! Choosing from two different challenges, each group will be given a flag to carry with them throughout the maze, in case you need to wave it for a hint from a supervising farmhand. Once you’ve conquered the corn maze, are you ready to take on the escape maze?
You’ve heard of an escape room, and this is a similar concept, but with a lot more corn! Your group is given 60 minutes in the maze to complete the challenge. Since the escape maze is only offered at night, the challenge only gets trickier in the dark. Get your tickets today! This year, Huckleberry Trail Farm is offering two challenges:
- Room One: Show Me the Money – The objective is for your team to find money hidden throughout the maze, all while reinforcing different team building skills!
- Room Two: Grampa’s Attic – This is a challenge based on owner Uncle Bob’s father-in-law!
Once you’ve navigated your way through the corn maze, it’s time to pick some pumpkins! Small pumpkins, medium pumpkins, carving pumpkins and gourds – they have them all. Not all of them will be picture-perfect, but that’s what makes each pumpkin unique. The spookier the pumpkin, the better the jack-o’-lantern will be! Prefer to order online? That’s an option too!
Fall Funny #2: What is a tree’s least favorite month?
Admission:
All pumpkins, fall decorations, refreshments and merchandise will be sold separate from the admission price. Purchase tickets in advance online and skip the entrance line upon arrival! Admission for adults ages 12 and up is $10 and admission for children ages 3-11, 65+ and military, first responders and teachers is $8.
Discounted admission is offered during select weekends. For example, the weekend of October 10-11, bring a nonperishable canned food item and receive $1 off the admission price. Your items will be donated by Piggly Wiggly to a local food bank!
Fall Funny #3: Who won the skeleton beauty contest?
COVID-19 Response:
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, guidelines have been set on the farm to ensure the safety of all guests and employees. Masks or face coverings must be worn at the main tent, during check-in and check-out, or around groups other than your own. Huckleberry Trail Farm recommends every member of their party does a temperature check before departing for the farm, making sure everyone’s temperature is below 100.4 degrees. Additional hand washing stations have been added throughout the property and social distancing mandates will be enforced.
