July Fourth in Pittsboro

In America’s books, the Fourth of July is a celebration like no other. For many Americans, that celebration is defined by hot dogs. Every year, on July 4, Americans consume 150 million hot dogs, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. In 1916, the first unofficial Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest took place, with four immigrants seeking a claim to fame. Today, that contest is a holiday tradition for the many folks competing and the millions watching at home. So, what’s for dinner in Chatham County on July 4?
